Navigation Elements and Their Importance
All the good websites need good web design structure and user friendly navigation. So users of that website will give up vote to website by sharing it through their respective channels. As a web designer you must always remain the basic reason of the website and the planned viewers when designing navigational rudiments. Most websites live to either notify the visitor about an artifact or service or to actually sell the product or service.
So, following points will give you some guideline regarding navigation.
• BE sure all navigational elements are evidently links by using typical conventions for links such as buttons, menus or changing color on mouse and when using non-conventional links, openly tell the visitors that this is a link and you can proceed.
• Every page on your website should be reachable within three clicks, because viewers do not like more clicks. So, try to follow “three click rules”.
• Create simple and attractive web pages. But if you do decide to use flash, then use the META REFRESH tag to take the visitor robotically to website home page after a few seconds and provide a clickable, clearly marked button, so user can get their navigational path.
These are the few things a web designer should remember.
