History Behind World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)

I think all web designers, developers and webmasters know about this term world wide web consortium or you can say it w3c. It is more useful for webmasters who are seeking for good web design structure to get high position in search engine, because w3c give standard certificate for clear coding in HTML.

1994,in the month of October W3C had been founded by Tim Berners-Lee at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Laboratory with support from the European Commission and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). W3C was fashioned to make sure compatibility and agreement among industry members in the adoption of new standards of web. Earlier unsuited versions of HTML were presented by many vendors, growing the potential for discrepancy in web pages. In April 1995 INRIA became the European host of W3C. In January 2003, the European host was transferred from INRIA to the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM). As of July 2011, the World Wide Web Consortium has 317 members in their arena.

In 2009, Vlad Alexander claimed that W3C was not affianced with website builders who represent the mass of the future users of the HTML spec and did not provide support to use the HTML spec properly.
