Intermediate Document Object Model (DOM)
Posted by on October 13, 2011
Document Object Model in short DOM which represents and interacts with objects of HTML, XHTML and XML which are used in web page creation by web designers. Many cases I found that many professional web design firms use DOM in smart way for their web pages. The public boundary of a Document Object Model is specified in its application programming interface (API).
In the year of 1997, Netscape introduced version 4.0 of Netscape Navigator and Microsoft released Internet Explorer 4.0, by adding some functionalities to support for Dynamic HTML (DHTML). Legacy DOM were friendly with Jscript since it was based on JavaScript, the DHTML DOM extensions known as Intermediate DOM were developed in parallel by each browser maker and remained incompatible. The Intermediate DOM enabled the utilization of Cascading Style Sheet properties which power the exhibit of a web document of website. They also provided entrance to a new feature called layers. Subsequent version of Netscape Navigator deserted hold for its Intermediate DOM and Internet Explorer continues to hold its Intermediate DOM for backwards compatibility.
